Alumna Jennifer Blanchfield (French, 1984) recently celebrated the second generation of her family to graduate from Royal Holloway at her daughter Elodie’s ceremony earlier this month. To mark this momentous occasion, Jennifer crafted an amazing model of Founder’s Building for the cake!
Jennifer’s own graduation ceremony in 1984 took place at the Royal Albert Hall so she was thrilled to share in Elodie’s ceremony on campus, which she said was much more of a personal experience.
“At Elodie’s ceremony, the talk given by Clive Gamble, referring to ‘time and place’ in the sense of the connection between the two disciplines of Geography and Archeology, seemed particularly pertinent to our family, as we returned to celebrate with her at my own former place of study.”
